Get why you'd want bigger impact, but if its actively crippling character's combat abilities in exchange for choice of personality, personally think it's more than a little broken. Getting to choose personality might have few options at present, but now we've got even less unless we want to damage the character's combat skill. Sorry if sounds like over-pushing issue, just trying to explain thoughts.

Thanks for the tip about the effects file, will give go to try and get around issue. Probably going to end up removing the bonuses completely tbh, because not liking the system, but at least gives me that option.

Yeah, could understand the reasoning behind wanting to make it do something. Just think it actually debuffing you makes choosing one you like instead of one you want for the character an issue. The kind buff, for example, I liked. Made sense, gives you slight buff that may not affect character its on, but if it doesn't, oh well. Doesn't hurt you not having the buff. Whereas an actual debuff can actually hurt the character. Since shy raises matk, can understand wanting to lower atk as a counter, but wondering if it may not be better choice to just lower the bonus and remove the debuff instead, because then its more like the kind one. That way having a certain personality CAN help slightly, but it doesn't cause problems if you want a different one.

As for modding it, I've no idea how to mod this game. I can install mods, but not make them. Only seems easy if you know coding. Unless you mean using json editor on save file to alter bonuses? That at least I know :D

Didn't really try out the new personality system update before this one since it had broken the personality choice system, so was waiting on a fix for that. Seems to be solved now, so was giving it a go, but then noticed the new stat changes that personalities affect.

Just wondering what other people think about this, because personally I'm finding it significantly annoying, at least as far as the changes for the shy personality go. That's always been the go-to personality for my starter slave, but now its hindering her in no small way. I always make her a rogue, so her attack has always been on the lower side as is, relying more on crit. The overall damage is further hindered by there being no advanced form of the dagger weapon, which I use for crit bonus, whereas other weapons have one.

But the new -20% debuff from shy personality is having a pretty rough effect on it. I don't particularly like the fact I'll have to give her a different personality just to avoid getting a nasty debuff to attack. If this new system were optional, then fair, it could be a good challenge for people who like that sort of thing. But when you're having to sacrifice freedom of choice on character personality to avoid making a character suffering stat bonuses... yeah, not liking this. Especially since only SOME personalities give debuffs. Using the shy example, shy is now a hinderance to every non-mage character, which seems utterly silly.

Not the first complaint I've had about a choice like this, to be honest. When it was switched so that you could only choose certain classes of starting slave from guild you chose to start with, was a bit annoyed since it forced you to choose your guild based on your starter slave rather than your actual character, which whilst it does make sense (since they'd offer you a character in line with what 'staff' they have), on flip side made you join a guild that didn't necessarily suit your character (I'm now a mage joining the fighters every time, which is a bit odd, especially since they seem to dislike mages :D). Chosen guild didn't have any effect on gameplay, though, so at least that wasn't a real issue. This one, on other hand, will either make you play with stat changes that could hinder characters or be forced to pick certain personalities to avoid that.

Not necessarily telling developer to change this, though by the gods I wish they would, but more just posting this to see what other people think of this new system. Guessing some people might just see it as a minor annoyance, but personally finding it really irritating.

Might be a way around this that I missed, but after having completed Amelia's new quest and bought her, it seems to be impossible to get married. Since one of the marriage quests requires you to talk to the Servant's guild, which you can no longer do, can't progress it at all.

Did try talking to Amelia at home, but she seems to be permanently stuck asking that question about whether you prefer her or Ana, which seems odd in itself. I would have thought she'd at least have menu to repeat sex scenes like Daisy/Cali do.

Got to admit first off that I actually love this new system. The original version introduced in prior patch was... pretty bad, tbh. Characters that it generated looked nothing like the descriptions. Now though we can fine tune it, so loving this :) First time I've ever not used body packs.

That said, there do seem to be more than a few issues. Not sure if they've been brought up anywhere - can't see here on forums and I don't use discord server. So just in case...

First is that if you modify a person via the slave trader's new lab thing, the full body image changes, but their headshot portrait remains unchanged. Noticed this when editing a newly bought slave.

Second is that some of the hair  options are a bit of a mess. I don't expect every piece to fit together perfectly - that'd be ridiculous - but a lot of the options just don't work together at all, leaving wierd bald spots between them or just looking downright wierd. Also, some of the 'length' options seem to have been mixed up somewhere, because I was getting longer option on medium than I was on long (can't remember exactly which it was, but might have been the bangs-section).

Last is that the interface itself's text seems to be a bit of a mess. Some options are doing the showing-up-as-data-strings thing (like DRAGONWINGSBLAHBLAH) instead of normal text. Also, minor point, but the lack of capitalisation on some of the interface text looks kinda odd when most of the game uses proper caps. Like I said, minor issue, but still.

All that being said, I am enjoying this system, and with a bit of tweaking it'll be great :)

You can hide steam games. Right click it in your library > Manage > Hide this game. Can then access a 'hidden games' list from view.

I'm 99% sure that they're 'enabled', strictly speaking, but they only appear around said periods. Not sure of the exact dates, and haven't tried changing my pc's time to check if that works, but short of messing with the system clock, the xmas and halloween events won't appear at moment.

Seem to be having several problems with this latest update.

Most annoying one is I seem to keep getting the spirit's quest that was added in the last patch repeatedly despite completing it already. Finished it, and several in-games days later I suddenly got the message about going to beastkin tribe again, and the quest was re-added to log. Originally occured after I hired the goblin (Hana, think it was?), but even after went back and tried not hiring her, still got same problem occuring.

Second, is it actually possible to trigger this new event with Lilia and Zephyra? I've talked to both of them (and every other character at that), waited in-game weeks, tried visiting every possible location, but there's no sign of any event.

Last issue is that supposedly off-hand items were added for casters, but I haven't seen a single one in any crafting menu or loot drop. Might just be bad luck on my part if it's a drop, but since done a lot of dungeons, the lack of them is a bit odd. Not that this bothers me much since casters use staffs, which are two handed, this making caster off hands kinda  a moot point... not that you CAN'T equip them with other gear, but I suppose the worth would depend on strength of the off-hand boost.

Thanks for reply :)

Glad to hear the manor will be refilled as soon as that, though think I'm still going to have to wait a month or so. I enjoy being able to actually do stuff between events, so whilst don't need it to be quite as expansive as act 2, do need a little more to do first. Happy to wait though - let's face it, your update cycle is way faster than most developers, where you're lucky to get an update every three or four months (not complaining about them either, just stating fact).

All in all though, would prefer having to wait a bit before I play again to seeing the game suffer from over-hasty updates. So by all means glad to see you're taking the time to make it work :)

Do we have any rough ideas on how low it'll be before we get most of characters back? Given usual schedule, and amount of characters, going to assume it'll take a couple of months minimum.

Not an insult about amount of content - considering weekly releases, its a neat amount per patch - but given that combined with amount of missing content in act 3 (between characters and the assumedly-needing-replacing-due-to-character-changes  H scenes), I might need to put off weekly downloads for a bit because it'll be some time before we can really do much in act 3. If I want stuff to do in the game at the moment I'm better off with my act 2 save, which won't need updates to play.

Noticed this a couple of updates ago but assumed it was a minor bug that'd be cleaned up shortly enough, but seems to be persisting even in latest version. When recruit Cali, for some reason when you try and skip time, if the time hits noon before end, it stops on noon.

Example to explain better. If on morning and skip a full day, it instead stops at noon on same day.

Not really gamebreaking issue, but somewhat annoying.

Ah, thanks. Don't generally look too close at changelogs apart from to see who new events are for, so missed that. And since I leave volumes at renpy's default, the music was drowning out the text to speech stuff.

Not sure if this is just happening to me or if its meant to be doing this, but does anyone know why the laptop screen remains blank whilst Spudge and Dice are typing during both of their events in 0.10.0? Its basically making the events unplayable because I'm missing huge portions of said events, and Sensei's responses don't give me enough to even guess at half of it.

Tried going back to earlier spudge and dice events and its only the new ones that seem to be having this with (though didn't test them all). Also tried redownloading game but same issue.

I assume you mean you've done all hypnosis stuff until final level? Goal for final stage of hypno stuff is to beat the sisters at same time whilst under the debuff from hypnosis, but it IS a tough fight, depending on your strength. Honestly, for first time run against sisters, its better if you haven't done hypnosis, because the debuff is a pain.

There arent really any techniques for beating it with debuff sadly, though if I remember correctly the advised level for it is about 40 and if possible to have nymph perk.

I had same issue this morning. If yours is same as mine was, when it sends you back to city menu, click through options to talk to Elly and confront Ven again. Should work properly on second try (as side note, this only works if you go straight to this when the menu comes up after fight. Doesn't if you go anywhere else first, including sleep)

Annoying have to do fight twice, but at least it's a way around bug until it gets patched.

Worked fine after ignore, thanks. Probably should have tried that myself, but last time I clicked ignore on a ren'py game error it crashed on me >.>"

Loved this update :) Seeing Sensei becoming less of an asshole is pleasing, and the humour was great (that convo between Kaori and Maki killed me :D)

Getting an error when I try and click onwards after Sensei says 'I don't know' whilst talking to Molly in her room. Screenshot below. Tried rollback but keeps happening.

Didn't play the previous version since was too minor an update for me to bother with (since all it changed was name colour and a few bugs, as I understand), but in the last one before that used to re-roll, hence confusion. Can understand the change to halfkin too, just seemed odd to me given the rather obscure nature of the chosen numbers.

Double checked Ralph's tweaks were on, and they are, but still experiencing the same issue with unique characters. Emily, as previously mentioned, has a ludicrously long list of genetics that doesn't seem to change for me even when start a new game. Just tried it and got the exact same list (below).

The issue with non-demon child is based primarily on my main being a pure demon. Since that means the child will always be at least 50% demon, then the only way another option is possible is if the other is 50 as well. Therefore I need to have him breed with a 100% whatever for there to even be a chance, because otherwise the genetics passed over will be under 50 and thereby excluded in favour of demon.
As example, if breed main with 100% feline, get a 50/50 demon/cat, so result could be either. But breed him with a halfkin cat, and results would be 50 demon/ 15.5 feline / 34.5 human. This means the end result will always be demon and cannot physically be halfkin cat. As it stands, the system means it's impossible for my main to have any child with a halfkin race or any other who isn't at 100% their race without the result being demon.

Whilst the fetish system would be fair enough for most part, it does cause a slight issue with the starting slave's quest line since it seems to be interfering with whatever calculates the end scene. I don't know coding, but can only assume the removal of the submissive trait is somehow removing the trigger for the ending, since it is giving the non-submissive quest ending/sex scene. If this is going to remain, then I'd think that the trigger for that scene needs to be altered somehow so get the correct ending.

Since 1.7, been having some odd results with certain elements of the racial builds (specifically percentages showing what they are, e..g. 50% human). For one thing, it seems to be having some strange results with the starting slave when I try and make a new game.  In previous versions I've gone back a step and re-changed her race to halfkin cat until got 100% feline (since just prefer it that way, even if you could argue a halfkin cat shouldn't be full cat), but now even when I do that her racial build seems locked at 39% human / 61 cat (or reverse, can't remember which). Since the numbers are a little odd, I don't imagine this was intentional, but maybe it is.

Also, the unique characters seem to have started having random racial builds again (e.g. Emily being about 4 different races mixed). If I'm remembering right, this was a problem during one version but was later fixed, but I'm getting same again now.

Since only way I can get a non-demon child is to breed with someone pure whatever I want them to be given that my main is pure demon (at least as I understand the system, since it only seems to pick from the ones with highest matching percentages, such as having 50/50 split and picking either), this is causing me a few problems, and just want to find out if this is intentional or a bug somewhere.

And as a seperate issue, starting slave's submissive route is playing up. When done the alchemy room scene with them, they gain the submissive trait there and then instead of during last scene, but then lose the trait next day, and the final scene that plays out is the one from love/loyal route, with same end trait results as if went that way.

Yeah, worked fine after downloaded new version. Thanks :)

Is anyone else having an issue triggering  'Four Teen GIrls and their Teacher Travel to Okakri'?

Hint says have to complete all main/side girl events to trigger, but I've checked characters page and definitely done (or marked as missed) all events on all characters available to me. But I'm in endless loop of no event triggering and keep getting message on weekend morning about checking in with all girls before party.

Don't know if you found out about it or not since post, but for anyone who doesn't, v52 is now available on the badkittygames site. Only just stumbled on that myself :)

Seems this has become one of those increasingly numerous games that give up on the itch.io updates in favour of patreon and the like without mentioning it >.>" Least the update IS available now though.

Seem to have hit a brick wall with quest where need to get lock of hair. Journal says need to win her over, but been through every conversation option with Elizabeth but nothing seems to link back.

Tried visiting all locations day and night, with maxed out energy as precaution, but still no advance. All other quests apart from stranger in strange land one are green/completed, and that one I've gathered can't continue til finished this one.

Have I hit a bug somewhere or is there something I'm missing?

Just tested out the wedding after the list system was patched, but there seems to be a bug over where Amelia discusses the 'use of bride' with you. Refused to invite said people, but the event played at end of wedding anyway where they do.

Only tested this with princess as bride, so not sure if it affects other spouses or if this is only for Ana.

UPDATE : Tested with Daisy out of curiosity. Same issue.

And as a side note, I find it odd that she remains listed as 'slave' afterwards, even with wife class. Not sure about how it all works in game lore, so maybe that's how she'll always be. Just kinda figured she'd at least be counted as 'free' if she's your wife. Especially since you're the mayor :)

This isn't a complaint, at least not in the traditional sense. Don't get me wrong, I like a decent challenge, and the early game was a bit too easy to skip through before (since you're pretty much free to do what you like once you get to election). But some of the features of the new update do seem to add a pretty brutal difficulty spike that I'm wondering at, and I'm just curious as to see what other people think of it.

For starters, the limiting of the class of your starter slave by your chosen guild. From a realism standpoint, makes a bit more sense. But from a gameplay one it's a bit of a pain. Put it this way - say you're a mage (my preferred build). Odds are you'd want to join mages guild. Before now I always did, and took a more physical-oriented starter slave build. But with the class limitation from new update, now joining mages guild means you basically have to have a mage slave. Which is a bit of an issue if you're already a mage yourself, since now you've got two mages instead of a physical/magic combo. So whilst it does make sense to do it, if you want a more balanced starter team you have to join a guild which isn't oriented to your characters traits but the one you want for your slave. So you seem to end up either having to have two characters with similar build or join a guild that doesn't really suit your character. I ended up having to quickly level slave to get her a more physical-focused class. You'd think you could at least get attendant or something with an equally general use cross-guild.

Second thing I noticed was the apparent decrease to the damage done by DOTs. Bleed in particular seems to be almost worthless now. As far as I can tell, all it does is one damage per round. When your enemies are averaging a good 80-90 health, 1 a turn is getting you nowhere, even if you stack the bleeds to 2 or 3. Yeah, don't want it to point where your DOTs can nuke enemies for you, but this low seems a bit much, since they make the abilities they're attached to almost worthless. It hasn't had too much effect on my gameplay since I tend to go for raw power than DOT, but still seems a little harsh.

Final change I noticed that I found a little odd was the buffs that random enemies seem to get. I imagine further into game they provide a nice little challenge, but if you encounter them early on they can utterly waste your team. My two newbies came up against a guy with buffs giving him a damage bonus and over 200 health total in their first fight, on top of the four other mobs. Yeah, was some pure bad luck, but maybe there needs to be something to stop something that brutal occuring so early on.

As I said at start, this isn't a complaint so much as some confusion. Difficulty spiking is one thing, but these just seem to be making things painfully awkward rather than challenging. You can push on past them, sure, but honestly, they seem a bit much.

Oh, and as a side note, is anyone else finding an issue with quests like 'clear the wolves' or 'clear the goblins' not always giving you gold reward?

I second that.

Tbh I'd find it pretty messed up to give us her card then have that happen without a way to reverse it somewhere down the line. Especially since she was an awesome character.

Though if I'm honest that event might have killed this game for me. This game's clearly got dark aspects to it, but child murder? Much as I respect the event as a narrative piece, being an author myself, honestly that sort of stuff is too much for me. I play games like this for fun, and that sort of stuff crossed too big a line for me.

Not saying it was a wrong decision - as said, appreciate the narrative nature of it - but if it's going to be that sort of story, I doubt I'll enjoy it any more personally.

There isn't any route to avoid Rin's crying, Chika won't accept her no matter what.

The only difference you can make to this scene, the route you can access with the goodhomie cheat if you didn't get it normally, is based purely on your relationship with Chika. If you didn't advance Chika to the point where you begin to romance her (not sure of the exact point in Chika's chain that marks this, I just held back on all but the necessary advancement events with her), you get that route without the cheat.

Doesn't really seem to make much difference. Rin does make some comments later on if you didn't take this route about you having done what she asked you not to, but I've not noticed it having much effect beyond that. Though I restarted the game several patches ago, so whether it affects the newer Rin events in any major way I can't say.

Mega seems to work fine, thanks for that. Was getting annoyed with that message :)

Is anyone else having an issue with downloading new version? Every time I try - and been trying since yesterday - get a message from google drive that 'too many people have downloaded this recently'. I wasn't too bothered the first few times, since new update ofc lots of people will download, but this is starting to get rather irritating tbh.

Slightly different question, but since still about Daisy quest not going to bother creating a whole new thread to ask this. Did the chain by using the bj scene (since only way to bypass atm based on my tests in other reply), and seem to have got through it. Just want to check that 'rescuing' Daisy and getting her to agree to come back with you is intended as end of chain.

Maybe overthinking it based on experiences with chains in first Strive, but admittedly thought it would have ended with a sex scene. Atm she just says she loves you and that's kinda it. Since chain's been a bit buggy for me I just want to be sure I haven't run into another issue.

(1 edit)

In case it helps any, I ran a quick test. Doesn't occur if I choose the sexual option (with the blowjob scene), but either of the pure talk options (first one and the one where you tell her you don't want slave in rags) cause this to happen.

Quick update : Out of curiosity, ran all the options on the lewd dress, but none of the options there have same issue.

I got to the part of the new quests with Daisy where you get her new clothes. I chose to get her the standard dress, paid, and she thanked me next morning. But the quest is still in my log, saying to wait until the clothes are ready. There haven't been any further interactions with Daisy either. Tried having sex with her, which I'd been holding off, but that didn't make a difference.

Is this intentional, or am I bugged somewhere? I'm assuming the latter, because this would be a very weird change to make to the game without completing the chain, but maybe it's just a placeholder or something.

Was going to leave this thread at that, but just noticed something odd. Whilst was trying to get this sorted, been playing through on my other character that I was playing for different class build. Made all the same choices throughout game, got to same point, yet despite this characters factors all being exactly 4 with exception of physics 5, so much lower ones than original character, managed to succeed at charm.

No differences in choices made, so not quite sure what's going on. There's an issue somewhere, but I don't know if it's in the game code or just a one-off bug somewhere in my original run.

Not really an issue now that I've managed to convince her, but figured it'd be worth mentioning just in case there is something off.

Solved the issue now thanks to developer's suggestion, and thanks to his point, one thing I've noticed is you chose the two sex factor options at end (imagining naked/once things set out), which is apparently the correct route for marriage. But that means your charm won't have mattered in your chosen route, only sex factor.

Thanks for that, that seems to have been the problem. I always went with the charm options on first repeat of the day, so when I tried the sex options on later days it probably wasn't working out properly. Might just be my writer's mindset, but charming her for love and mentioning sex for slavery made more sense. After all, you'd think you'd have to charm her to convince her to love/marry, whereas if she's just a slave you'd likely be more interested in sex.

Whilst possible, seems unlikely given I was careful with my choices, and have tried several different routes just in case.

Managed to convince Aire to give up location. When she was brought out, said 'honor to meet you', 'let's not jump to conclusions', 'there's no need for violence'. When she caused issue, opposed it and claimed it was barbaric. and sacrificed a follower to save her, since only other option seems to be slapping her earlier, which I can't see being that convincing >.>"

At the prison, tried both greeting her and telling her I was a friend. Told her I wished to save her, tried both 'way to save you' and 'negotiated for pardon' options, mentioned was mayor, said she'd have to marry me (since the other option was basically blackmail, can't see that going over with her too well), said feelings were sincere, said was sorry for loss. Said she'd tried to do what was right, and would be able to help people if didn't die.

Next day let her talk to Aire, who supported it. After that tried just about every route with the options about coming to an agreement that didn't involve insulting her (the one about not caring about her feelings). Made sure both charm and sex factors were at 5.

At this point, I can't see any other route with the options that doesn't involving offending her. If I'm wrong, be glad to know, but it'd be a little odd if I legitimately have to insult her to convince her.

(1 edit)

My character's charm factor's already four even without upgrading it. Would have thought that'd be enough, but still not working.

May try getting factor to 5 just to see what happens, though the mats for that are a pain in the neck :) Things we do for a princess' love... :D

Updated : Nope, even with factor 5 it's failing. Gotta be something wrong somewhere if you managed it at 4.

Yeah, I hadn't played in whilst so downloaded latest version and started new game, so shouldn't be any lingering issues with old versions affecting saves either.

I've managed to get the princess captured, and offered to convince her to marry. I've talked with her and she's mostly responding well. I've let her talk to the elf who supported the idea. I've boosted my charm as much as I can manage. Yet no matter what I try, she still claims she cannot agree to marry. Seems to be an endless loop, since every new day I try again and same result. Amelia offers help, but a) don't really want to go that route and b) talking to her doesn't seem to offer any choices.

Is it actually even possible atm to get her to agree? Because it says check against charm, but despite having tried with over 100 charm points I still can't get it to work.
